Rapid KL’s Demand Responsive Transit (DRT) service is now called Rapid KL On-Demand, and the vans are being introduced in new areas in the Klang Valley. This round, there are seven new routes, starting from today (March 10).
The new routes are T253B LRT Wangsa Maju – Sri Rampai, T254B Titiwangsa – Chow Kit, T651B Taman OUG – Kuchai Lama, T255B Bukit Antarabangsa – Setiawangsa, T606B Bandar Kinrara – Jalan Puchong, T202B Taman Melati – Gombak Setia, and T466B Bangi – Uniten.
As usual, one will have to use either the Kummute, Trek Rides or Mobi apps to book a ride. Of the list above, the first two are under Kummute and the rest are under Trek Rides, except for Bangi – Uniten (Mobi). The fare is RM1 per ride and one can pay with My50/MyCity/Pas Famili, Touch n Go cars, MyRapid concession cards and the OKU Smile pass.
In January, transport minister Anthony Loke said that DRT is a hit and announced that Prasarana will be introducing 300 more vans for this first-mile, last-mile connectivity solution – full story here.
