Petronas Cub Prix Malaysia resumes with rounds 3 – 6

Racing resumes for the 2021 Petronas Malaysian Cub Prix, with rounds 3, 4, 5 and 6. A double header weekend will be held at the Sepang International Circuit North Track with rounds 3 and 4 on September 18th and 19th, while action moves to Terengganu on October 2nd and 3rd at the Terengganu Motor Circuit for rounds 5 and 6.

Ron Hogg, director of Safe Aim Mutual, organisers of the Petronas Cub Prix, expressed his thanks to relevant ministries, local authorities as well as Malaysia’s motorsports governing body for ensuring the cub prix could be held this year. “At the same time, we wish to express our thanks to our main sponsor, Petronas, without whose support this season’s racing would not have been possible,” said Hogg.

In Malaysia, motorsports has been hit hard, with 2021 racing fixtures postponed or cancelled altogether, including the 2021 Malaysian MotoGP, the biggest event in the calendar. The 2021 Cub Prix calendar was initially slated to have 10 rounds, but only two rounds were run before lockdowns interrupted racing.
